Our educational programs are designed to connect with and supplement the BC provincial core learning objectives such as critical thinking, effective communication, and personal responsibility. People of all ages in our programs are met where they are and offered information and the opportunity to practice real-world ecological restoration. Now and for nearly 50 years, learners in our programs have been inspired to support important habitats by taking action in their local communities with the tools and skills that they learned on site. We also offer other learning opportunities such as brief sanctuary tours (e.g. the Native Plant Garden), hands-on workshops, and regular activities in the Nature House for children and families.

We acknowledge the lək ̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory the Nature Sanctuary stands, and the lək ̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
We respect the vital relationships of First Peoples with these lands and waters for countless generations. We are honoured to receive Indigenous guidance and welcome collaboration in stewardship and appreciation of the Nature Sanctuary.
