About
Planned Giving
Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary Society is grateful for financial support provided through Planned Gifts.
Planned giving, also known as Legacy Giving, is a way to ensure that your values are honoured and celebrated long into the future, by way of a charitable gift to a charity or non-profit organization via a Will. This gift can take the form of a specific sum or a percentage of your assets.
Legacy gifts help to ensure that the peace and beauty of the Nature Sanctuary will endure and support others long into the future, for the next generations of children to enjoy and treasure.
Additionally, donors can receive substantial tax benefits when leaving charitable gifts, resulting in benefits for both their causes of choice and their families.
Planned Gifts may take many different forms:
- A bequest in your will
- A life insurance policy, with the society named as the beneficiary
- A charitable trust
- Gifts of property
- Gifts of publicly traded securities and stocks
- An annual pledge to donate
- An endowment fund established at a foundation, with the Nature Sanctuary Society named as the recipient
If you take the step to leave a Legacy Gift, this means:
- The Nature Sanctuary Society receives the gift at a future date
- You ensure the continuation of your gifting wishes
- You can maximize personal financial benefits and reduce estate taxes
To leave a Planned Gift, we recommend that you speak to a professional financial advisor.
