Educators provide interactive, service-based programs suitable for learners of all ages. Programs emphasize instilling a sense of stewardship for the delicate wetland and endangered Garry Oak meadow ecosystems found on site. Educational initiatives aim to offer hands-on experiences that actively contribute to the restoration and monitoring of the land and water. This program is currently being revamped due to budget shortfalls.
In 2024, our educational programming reached 15,000 Nature House visitors and delivered 230 programs to 3,900 school students. These occurred with the help of 381 volunteer hours. We regularly hear that children’s first hands-on nature experience was from a visit to Swan Lake. Whether through a program, or a family walk, we work to ensure that nature is here and welcoming to everyone.
