Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is a natural oasis in the urban landscape of Greater Victoria. Five kilometres of easy walking trails run through our 170+ acres with a 2.5km Lake Loop trail that includes a picturesque Floating Boardwalk, and the 2.5km Christmas Hill Loop trail which features a lake viewpoint and an ecologically unique vernal pond viewing stop. The Nature Sanctuary is vital for protecting threatened species and the Colquitz River watershed.

On the north side of Swan Lake lies the Nature House which is home to interactive educational displays, the Catherine Grant Library, the Native Plant Gardens, and our gift shop filled with unique treasures. Near to the Nature House is the Founder’s Wharf, which offers a panoramic view of Swan Lake and honours the incredible community who has made the conservation of this unique place possible.

Please note that visitors under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18+ while visiting the Nature Sanctuary and Nature House.
