Parking
On-site parking can be limited. Please be respectful of our neighbors and avoid parking on residential streets. See below for more information on overflow parking.
Where to park
The main parking lot to the Nature Sanctuary is located to the east of Swan Lake Road. In the case that the main parking lot is full, there is an overflow parking lot located outside 841 Ralph Street. There are two accessible parking spots located outside of the Nature House at the end of Swan Lake Road.
During events, there is limited parking at the Nature Sanctuary. Please avoid parking on residential streets.
See below for a map of alternate parking options and more information on alternate parking locations.
If you are able, carpooling or using alternative transportation would be a wonderful gift to nature! We do not want to pave over more greenspace for cars.
Alternate parking: nelthorpe street
Nelthorpe Street between Graythorpe Place and the Nature Sanctuary is an alternate parking location. Please only park on the south side of Nelthorpe alongside the Nature Sanctuary border.
To access the Nature House, walk west towards the Swan Lake loop trailhead (pictured on right), and follow signage to the Nature House.
Alternate parking: haynes and lancaster roads
There is additional alternate parking at the end of corner of Haynes and Lancaster Roads, with approximately five to six parking spots.
Connect to the Swan Lake loop trailhead (pictured on right) south of the parking area and continue on the trail vis the floating boardwalk to the Nature House.
Alternate parking: saanich municipal hall
The closest available public parking lot is located at the Saanich Municipal Hall at 770 Vernon Avenue.
It is a beautiful, leisurely 15 minute nature walk via the lake loop along the floating boardwalk to the Nature House.
