Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary protects over 160 acres of wetland around Swan Lake and some of last 5% of Canada’s remaining Garry Oak meadow on Christmas Hill. We preserve and restore habitat for roughly 10% of the municipality’s rare, threatened, and endangered species and are a critical migratory bird stopover on the Pacific Flyway, with a total of about 200 species of birds that rest, breed and/or live on site. We invite you to learn more and get involved with the conservation of these important ecosystems and our incredible biodiversity.
