Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary hosts a wide variety of programs for diverse audiences: programs for families, special events, and parent and child programs.

Power Partners
Sunday, May 27, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Join us for a celebration of the birds, the bees and the plants that they need! Did you know a third of the food we eat is a result of insect pollination? Learn what you can do to help our pollinators through family friendly games, crafts, strolls through the native plant garden, interactive displays and planting seeds to take home.

Wetland Wanderings
Sunday June 24, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
What makes a wetland such a great place to enjoy and protect? Join in the discovery with hands-on exploration, pond dipping for live wetland creatures, crafts and games.

Summer Special Events
Join in every second Wednesday in summer for a nature celebration filled with hands-on activities, games, crafts and more!
Drop in, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday July 11 – Bug Day
Wednesday July 25 – Reptile Day
Wednesday August 8 – Swan Lake Bingo Trails  (this is a guided hike around Swan Lake, please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle)

Creatures of the Summer Night

Friday July 20 OR Friday August 24, 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.

 

Check out the amazing nightlife of Swan Lake! Sharpen your senses to look for owls, bats and other nighttime creatures. Using a grab bag of tricks we’ll discover how these animals are adapted to their nocturnal life as well as take a guided evening walk down to the lake in the search for nighttime creatures.
Suitable for families with children over 6 years.

 

COST – $5 each for Sanctuary members / $6 each Non-Members.
