Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary hosts a wide variety of programs for diverse audiences: programs for families, special events, and parent and child programs.

French Celebration of Nature – Les Oiseaux/birds

Discover the amazing world of birds – en français! Games, displays, crafts and fun in a bilingual setting. Everyone is welcome.

Going Batty
Sunday, October 28, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. – drop in anytime
Explore the best source of natural mosquito control – Bats!  Explore their weird and wonderful world with games, activities and crafts and find out how to encourage bats to visit your neighbourhood.

Soil Safari

Sunday, November 25, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.

Discover a 12,000 year old beach in the middle of the forest and glimpse the history of the area as we go back in time by digging down underground. 
Paint your face with marine clay and experience the mud pudding from the bottom of Swan Lake. 
Explore the hardworking decomposers that create the soil and take a closer look under a microscope.
Mold clay with guest potters and take home your creation along with fun crafts and all that you have learned about what lies beneath.

The Compost Education Centre and the South Vancouver Island Mycological Society will be joining us for this special event.
