Egg-cellent Adventures

Sunday, May 28, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Birds lay them. Reptiles, insects and fish do too! Come join us for some amazing egg-speriments. We’ll have many different eggs displayed and you can use tools to get a closer look at these marvels. We’ll also explore the lifecycle of some egg-laying creatures through games and crafts. So put all your eggs in one basket, and join us for Egg-cellent Adventures!



Bio Blitz
Sunday, June 25, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Come help us celebrate the flora and fauna found at Swan Lake! Using binoculars, magnifying glasses and microscopes join us to see just how many species of birds, insects, plants and mammals we can identify. Help us discover the incredible diversity in our own backyard. We will be hiking, pond dipping and exploring the forest floor. We hope you and your curiosity can join us!


Incredible Inverts
Wednesday, July 12, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
They’re creepy, they’re crawly and they’re cool. Explore with us the fascinating world of insects, spiders and other invertebrates. Hands-on exploration, live bugs, crafts and games.
Admission by donation.


Christmas in July - evening guided hike
Tuesday, July 25, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Come share the magic of Christmas Hill during a fabulous evening guided hike. Stretch your limbs and listen to the chorus of birds while checking out the great view from a spectacular vantage point. You may even discover the legends of Christmas Hill.
Suitable for families and children over 7 years. Bring a water bottle. Free but donations are greatly appreciated.

Reptile Day
Wednesday, July 26, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Join in our annual scaly celebration!  Observe and interact with our fabulous reptile friends, play games, make crafts and get your face painted.
Admission by donation. 


Creatures of the Summer Night
Friday, July 28, 8 pm to 9:30 pm OR
Friday, August 25, 8 pm to 9:30 pm
Check out the nightlife of Swan Lake! Sharpen your senses to look for owls, bats and other nighttime creatures. Using a grab bag of tricks we’ll discover how these animals are adapted to their nocturnal life.
Suitable for families with children over 6 years.
$4 each for Members / $6 each Non-Members.

Predators of the Sky
Wednesday, August 9, 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
Birds of prey have amazing adaptations from keen eyesight to stealth and speed. Come find out more during this fabulous feathered event, play games, make crafts, and even get the chance to examine an owl pellet.

Wondrous Wetlands
Wednesday, August 23 ,12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
What makes a wetland such a great place to enjoy and protect? Find out with hands-on exploration, pond dipping for live wetland creatures, crafts, songs and games.
