The Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is a registered charitable organization that needs your involvement to continue to inspire stewardship of natural places through education and ecological experiences.


How to Donate

We are happy to receive your donation directly by cheque, credit card or cash, or by phone with a credit card. If you wish to mail in your donation, you may download and print the Donation Response Form and send it in with your cheque or credit card information.

 

If you prefer to use a secure on-line method to make a contribution, we recommend CanadaHelps, a simple and secure donation portal run by a public charitable foundation that provides access to all of Canada's 80,000 charities.

The Bridges to Nature Capital Campaign
Our outdoor classroom, the wharf adjacent to the Nature House, was replaced in June 2010. We are now engaged in a campaign to raise funds to replace the entire floating walkway and south wharf. Built in 1991, this much-loved feature will soon need to be closed for safety reasons. Read more....

Childrens' Nature Education Fund

Ignite the passion for stewardship and connect children to nature. Your support will help upgrade Nature House displays, provide outreach programs to schools and supply educational tools. Over 6,500 children participate in our education programs every year.

Ecosystem Restoration Fund
Restore a turtle habitat, provide a place for frogs to flourish, rehabilitate the native plant demonstration garden, control invasive plants, restore the Garry oak meadow and upgrade the trails for our 65,000 annual visitors.

Friends Membership Program
Members will receive the Sanctuary newsletter and are entitled to a discount on programs, plants at the Native Plant Sales, and merchandise from our gift shop.

 

Your membership also helps the Nature Sanctuary have more influence when advocating for funding from government and foundations. The more involved you become the more you can shape the future of the Sanctuary while supporting education programs and stewardship services. Each $35 membership includes a $15 charitable donation. Monthly Giving Club
You recognize the importance of Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary in our region and want to join others in providing us with a steady stream of funding while saving us in processing costs. You will receive a private naturalist tour annually, a set of note cards and an annual tax receipt. We thank you for considering joining this important club today. Planned Giving Legacy Club

You can provide a lasting legacy by providing a charitable donation through a bequest in your will. Contributors may determine where their funds are to be applied, or they may choose to leave allocation of the funds to the discretion of the Board of Directors. Fund Raising Events
Watch the web site for news of special fund raising events, including our twice-annual Native Plant Sale.  These events provide an opportunity to do something nice for yourself and the Sanctuary at the same time!
